  • European Patent Attorney, Authorized Swedish IP Attorney
  • Over 20 years of hands-on experience in the patent field, both as an IP consultant in private practice and as an in-house patent professional

After working as an R&D engineer within optics and laser technology in the industry for nearly 4 years, Olle started working as a patent attorney at the IP law firm Albihns (now Zacco) in Malmö in 1998. For close to 9 years he worked mainly with drafting and prosecution of patent applications and oppositions, but also assisting clients in patent strategy matters. Olle was a partner and the leader for the IT/Medtech patent team at the Malmö office.

Olle passed the European Qualifying Examination in 2002, and has since taught patent law in parallel with his work, Primarily through IP Akademin. This has involved training both patent engineers to pass the EQE, and in-depth EP and PCT practice for certification of patent assistants. Olle was also a national trainer at the introduction of EPC2000.

In 2006, Olle began working for Sony Ericsson, subsequently Sony Mobile Communications AB, as an in-house patent expert. In the following years he worked within a wide field of patent-related issues, from innovation to litigation. On the input side, this included having main responsibility for preparing filing strategies and guidelines for outside patent counsel, but also involved training of employees, patent mining, and patent board management. On the value side of IP, Olle’s fields of responsibility comprised both process management and active operation of risk assessment with regard to third party rights, review and evaluation of company patent rights with regard to products and competitors, as well as preparing and assisting in court cases in legal disputes in Europe.

Since 2013, Olle is again active as a patent attorney in private practice in the new IP law firm Neij & Lindberg AB, which he started together with Hans Neij.
